Marketing at Lane Construction

I joined Lane Construction in early February. This Cheshire, CT based company is a titan in the heavy civil and transportation construction industry. I’m looking forward to making a difference and increasing their growth. Branding, effective marketing communications and a new customer centric website are early priorities. With all of our infrastructure needs — new roads, repairing bridges, airport and rail expansion, and energy construction — It’s exciting to be marketing and playing offense for a 120 year old industry leader.

Open House at High Hopes Therapeutic Riding

High Hopes Therapeutic Riding Announces Two Open House Events

On Saturday, January 30 and again on Saturday March 13, the High Hopes Therapeutic Riding Center in Old Lyme, CT will host an open house from 1 to 3pm and we sincerely hope you can join us.  During your visit you can tour the barn, meet some horses, watch a therapeutic riding class in session, ask questions of the High Hopes program staff and learn more about one of this country’s premier therapeutic riding programs.  Delicious refreshments, including homemade chili and brownies, will be available.  Our Open Houses are informal and your visit can be as long or short as your own schedule allows.  Even if you are a High Hopes regular volunteer or participant, the afternoon promises to be informative and eye opening.  This is also a great opportunity to bring a friend or neighbor to High Hopes and share your volunteer or participant experience with them first hand.

For more information about our volunteer programs please visit us at http://www.highhopestr.org/volunteering-main.htm

Shoreline Out and About, or shorelineoutandabout.com, is a website designed to connect communities throughout the Connecticut Shoreline. It’s a crisp, informative, quality site. Well done.

As communications become more advanced, it’s good to be reminded that some principles endure - and that marketing is personal and local. Gary Vaynerchuk understands this very well.

Small Town Rules
As the world becomes one small town the rules of the 1950’s become more important when building a business and a brand.

Pinchbeck Rose Growers in Guilford CT is open again as Roses for Autism! Probably the only commercial rose grower left in all of New England, Pinchbeck closed its doors this summer due to low cost South American competition. A great combination of CT Grown, Ability Beyond Disability employment and local entrepreneurial spirit has the greenhouse back in business. It’s worth the trip to see the world largest greenhouse — it’s over a half a mile long. You can also order on-line.
The roses are cut fresh, have incredible aroma and last longer than any I’ve ever imagined - and with every purchase you support a great cause.

RJ Julia booksellers in Madison has just relaunched their Just the Right Book gift giving service. It is an exceptional gift service for book lovers of any age. Appears that they have updated the program with a new dedicated website that’s much easier to navigate and fill in personalized information for the gift recipients — and it’s just in time for the holiday’s.
